JOEL SAPPINGTON is a writer, director, producer, and editor whose passion for storytelling crosses over between the narrative, documentary, videography and industrial mediums. This versatility sets Joel apart and supports him as a filmmaker dedicated to putting truth on screen.

Joel spent his formative years in Indonesia before moving to southern California for his undergrad at Biola University. He graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Communications and moved up to Los Angeles where he fell more in love with the filmmaking process. He has lived in The United States, Canada, Asia and Europe and has travelled across the globe, instilling in him a broader perspective on the world, cultures, religions, and humanity.

After spending two years in Mobile, Alabama working in the art department on feature films such as BEFORE I WAKE, HUSH, VICE, HEIST, and USS INDIANAPOLIS: MEN OF COURAGE, Joel moved back to Los Angeles to complete an MFA in Film/Television at Mount St. Mary’s University.

Joel graduated Summa Cum Laude from the program and wrote, directed, produced and edited 5 short films during his time there. He has since moved back to the south to be the in-house Video Writer, Director, and Producer for a large telecommunications company.

Joel currently lives in Fairhope, Alabama with his wife Tricia - his much more attractive and infinitely better half.
